What Is Livenewschat.eu?
Livenewschat.eu, also called Live News Chat (LNC), is a browser-based website that brings live news streams and a live chatroom together in one place. Instead of opening a separate app for news and another app for discussion, visitors can watch a live news channel and talk about it with other viewers at the same time.
The site describes itself as a free service that has been providing live news streams since 2010, with no registration, no credit card, and no VPN required to start watching. Its own pages say the streams run 24/7 and work in a normal web browser on phones, tablets, laptops, and TV browsers.
It is important to be clear about one thing from the start: Livenewschat.eu is not CNN, MSNBC/MS NOW, CNBC, or any other news network itself. It is a third-party site that links to or embeds live streams of existing news channels. That difference matters for safety, reliability, and legality, and this guide explains it in plain language.

How Livenewschat.eu Works
Using the site is deliberately simple, and that simplicity is part of its appeal for cord-cutters and expats who want US and international news without a cable box.
Forum discussions about watching live news without cable, such as this AnandTech thread on cutting the cord, note that CNN’s online live feed usually requires a cable or TV account, which is why cord-cutters look for alternatives.
- Open livenewschat.eu in any modern browser.
- Choose a channel from the header or footer menu, for example MS NOW, CNN, or CNBC.
- Press play in the video player. The site says the player adjusts quality to your internet connection.
- To join the discussion, open the LNC Chatroom from the menu. The site says chat works without registration for basic use.
The site says it uses redundant stream sources, so if one feed goes down, a backup should take over. It also says its MS NOW feed uses the RockinRooster player, which it traces back to live streaming that began in the Justin.tv era in 2008 and 2009.
In practice, third-party streams can still buffer, stop, or disappear. A stream that works today is not guaranteed to work tomorrow, and that is normal for this kind of site.
What Channels Can You Watch on Livenewschat.eu?
The channel list is the main reason people find the site. It focuses on rolling news rather than movies or sports.
US news networks
- MS NOW (formerly MSNBC): The site’s most promoted stream, running 24/7. It lists shows such as Morning Joe, The Rachel Maddow Show, Deadline: White House, All In with Chris Hayes, and The Last Word. MSNBC was rebranded as MS NOW in late 2025 after Comcast spun off several cable networks into a new company called Versant, but the programming carried over.
- CNN: Full CNN coverage, including breaking news and international reporting, with shows such as Anderson Cooper 360, The Lead with Jake Tapper, and Erin Burnett OutFront listed in the site’s own guides.
- CNBC: Business news, market coverage, Squawk Box, and financial analysis, from the pre-market open through the closing bell.
International news channels
Beyond the US networks, the site also lists international streams such as Sky News, Euronews, CBC News, DW English, France 24, and a Middle East news livestream. For viewers outside the United States, or for US viewers who want a non-US view of a story, this international section is often more useful than the US section alone.
The Live Chatroom: How It Works
The chatroom is what separates Livenewschat.eu from a simple stream-aggregator page. Viewers can react to breaking news, ask questions, and discuss a story while it is happening.
According to the site, the chatroom started in the late 2000s on IRC-style chat and later moved to a Slack-based chatroom. Today, visitors are directed to open the LNC Chatroom from the menu, and the site says no registration is needed for basic chat.
A few practical points about the chatroom:
- It is a public, community discussion, not a newsroom. Comments are other viewers’ opinions, not verified reporting.
- Political discussion is a large part of the community, especially around US politics streams. Expect strong opinions.
- As with any open chatroom, do not share personal information, passwords, or payment details in chat.
If you only want to watch quietly, you can ignore the chatroom completely and just use the video player.
How to Use Livenewschat.eu on Phone, Desktop, and TV
The site says it is 100 percent mobile friendly and needs no app.
- Phone or tablet: Open the site in Safari or Chrome, choose a channel, and tap the player. Turn the phone sideways for full-screen landscape viewing.
- Desktop or laptop: Click play, then use the expand icon for full-screen. The site says it works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari.
- Smart TV, Roku, Fire TV, or Apple TV: Load the site’s URL in the TV browser, or cast the tab from your phone or laptop to the TV.
No download, cable login, or subscription is required for the basic free streams, according to the site. A paid Pro option is mentioned on the site for more features and fewer interruptions, but the free streams are presented as the main product.
Is Livenewschat.eu Free?
Yes, for basic watching, according to the site itself: free, no sign-in, no cable login, and no app download. The site says it supports itself through non-intrusive advertising.
There is a catch to understand, though. Free here does not mean official. The networks themselves charge for their official live feeds through cable, live TV streaming services, or their own memberships. Livenewschat.eu is offering access to those channels through third-party streams, not through an official partnership that the site clearly documents. That is why a free third-party stream can be less stable, and sometimes unavailable, than a paid official service.
If a stream asks you to install unfamiliar software, enter card details, or disable security tools to keep watching, stop. That is not part of the normal free, browser-only experience the site describes.
Is Livenewschat.eu Safe and Legal to Use?
This is the section to read carefully before you rely on the site.
What the site says about itself: It says it has operated continuously since 2012, uses clean code with no obfuscated JavaScript, does not block visitors for using ad-blockers, and does not force registration or email harvesting.
What outside checkers say: At least one third-party trust checker, Scam Detector, has given livenewschat.eu a very low trust score of 12.9 out of 100 and tagged it as risky. That score alone does not prove the site is a scam, and trust scores can be wrong or out of date, but it is a real warning sign that should not be ignored.
What that means in practice:
- Do not enter personal, login, or payment information on a third-party streaming site.
- Do not download players, codecs, or extensions just to watch a stream.
- Use an up-to-date browser, keep your device software updated, and be cautious with ads and pop-ups.
- Understand that the legal status of third-party streams of copyrighted channels can vary by country, and the networks that own the channels do not necessarily authorize these streams. If you want a guaranteed legal feed, use the official services below.
In short: treat Livenewschat.eu as a convenient, free, third-party option with real trade-offs, not as an official news service. For breaking news in an emergency, an official broadcaster feed, a local station, or a paid live TV service will be more reliable.
Livenewschat.eu vs Livechatnews.com: Do Not Confuse Them
This confusion is common, and Livenewschat.eu itself addresses it directly. Its own alternative page says: if you landed there searching for LiveChatNews.com, you were probably looking for Live News Chat and could not remember the exact name order.
Here is the difference:
- Livenewschat.eu: Live News Chat. Live news streams plus a chatroom. Operating since 2010, according to the site.
- Livechatnews.com: A different website focused on live chat software updates, AI chatbot news, and digital communication trends. It is a content and news blog about chat technology, not a live TV streaming site.
They share similar words in a different order, but they are not the same site and they do not do the same thing. If you want to watch live TV news, you want Livenewschat.eu. If you want to read about live chat software and chatbot trends, you want Livechatnews.com.
Livenewschat.eu vs Official Paid Services
If reliability and legality matter more than saving money, an official service is the better choice.
For a broader look at streaming and TV options, see our guide to the best IPTV providers in the UK and what to check before you subscribe.
- YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, and DIRECTV Stream: All carry MS NOW, CNN, and CNBC in their live channel lineups, with free trials on some plans. Prices change often, so check the current plan before you sign up.
- MS NOW Membership: The network’s own membership, listed at $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year in recent guides, for its live feed plus member-only shows.
- CNN Max / CNN All Access: CNN’s own streaming products have changed names over time. Check CNN’s current official app and site for the live feed that matches your country.
- Free official FAST channels: Pluto TV, Tubi, Samsung TV Plus, and similar services carry free, ad-supported news feeds, but these are usually curated or replay feeds, not the full live cable channel.
For many cord-cutters, the practical setup is a mix: a free official FAST channel for headlines, an antenna for local news, and a paid live TV trial or membership when a specific live event matters.
Common Problems and Fixes
The stream will not load: Refresh the page, try a different browser, and try a different channel on the same site to see if the problem is one feed or the whole site. Check your internet connection first, because live video needs a stable connection.
The stream buffers constantly: Lower the player quality if that option is available, close other video tabs, and try a wired connection or a stronger Wi-Fi signal. HLS adaptive streaming should adjust automatically, but a weak connection will still cause pauses.
You get timed out: The site itself has a timeout page that says you have been timed out and invites you to go back or go Pro for more features with no interruptions. Going back and re-selecting the channel is the free workaround the site suggests.
A channel has changed its name: MS NOW is the new name for MSNBC. If you search for MSNBC live and find MS NOW, it is the same network with the same shows, just rebranded in late 2025.
The chatroom will not open: Try opening it from the site menu in a desktop browser, and allow pop-ups for the site if your browser blocks the chat window. Do not install anything to open chat.
Who Should Use Livenewschat.eu, and Who Should Avoid It?
It may suit you if: You want a quick, free, no-sign-up way to check a live news channel, you are outside the US and want US news, you like discussing breaking news live with other viewers, or you are comparing it with other free stream sites before paying for a service.
Avoid it or use an official service instead if: You need a guaranteed, legal feed for work, school, or an emergency; you are uncomfortable with third-party streams and low trust scores from outside checkers; you need stable, high-quality video for a full day of viewing; or you do not want to deal with ads, timeouts, or streams that can disappear.
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, according to the site, basic live streams and chat are free with no registration, credit card, or VPN required. A paid Pro option is mentioned for extra features and fewer interruptions.
Do I need an account to watch Livenewschat.eu?
No, according to the site. You open the site in a browser, choose a channel, and press play. The live chat feature is also described as working without registration for basic use.
What channels does Livenewschat.eu offer?
Its main US channels are MS NOW (formerly MSNBC), CNN, and CNBC, plus international channels such as Sky News, Euronews, CBC News, DW English, and France 24.
Is Livenewschat.eu the official CNN or MSNBC site?
No. It is a third-party site that streams existing news channels. CNN, MS NOW, and CNBC have their own official sites, apps, and paid services.
Is Livenewschat.eu safe?
Use it with caution. The site claims clean code and no forced registration, but at least one outside trust checker has given it a very low score. Do not enter personal or payment information, do not download anything to watch, and prefer official services for important or sensitive viewing.
Why is Livenewschat.eu confused with Livechatnews.com?
The names use the same words in a different order. Livenewschat.eu is Live News Chat, a live TV streaming and chat site. Livechatnews.com is a different site about live chat software and chatbot news.
Conclusion
Livenewschat.eu is best understood as a free, third-party shortcut to live news: open a browser, pick MS NOW, CNN, CNBC, or an international channel, and watch with a live chatroom beside it, without signing up or paying. That convenience is real, and it explains why the site has lasted since 2010 and why people keep searching for it, sometimes confusing it with Livechatnews.com.
The trade-offs are just as real. It is not an official network feed, its streams can buffer or disappear, and outside trust checkers have flagged it with a low score. For casual checking of breaking news, it can be useful. For reliable, guaranteed, and clearly legal viewing, an official live TV service, a network membership, or a free official FAST news channel is the safer choice.
If you try Livenewschat.eu, keep it simple: watch in your browser, share nothing personal, download nothing, and switch to an official feed when the story really matters.
